Britain is famous for its heroic history, its marvellous art and outstanding people. Many British artists, writers, musicians and political figures are known all over the world. One of the most extravagant British musicians of the 20th century was Freddie Mercury remembered both for his bright performances and his unusual image. The songs he wrote included a wide variety of forms and styles such as rock, heavy metal, disco and others. Freddie Mercury who was often wearing his signature unitard didn't like writing in the same manner and tried to use different ways of self-expression.

Additionally, Freddy Mercury was a skilful instrumentalist. In many songs Queen performed he played the piano and other keyboard instruments. He wasn't able to play the guitar well though he composed many guitar lines and even played acoustic guitar several times during performances.

Freddie Mercury was famous not only for his vocals for Queen but he also developed a solo career. The world saw the appearance of his two solo albums as well as several singles which were also popular among people. Speaking about his solo albums, it is important to mention Mr. Bad Guy and Barcelona including the duet with a Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe. Freddie Mercury worked on hits like Victory and State Of Shock with another important superstar Michael Jackson though their songs together were not released.

Though Freddie Mercury seemed to be a very extravagant performer in his remarkable unitard, he was known as a shy person who didn't like giving interviews or speaking about his personal life. He used to say that he was a very different person while performing on stage. His fans were terrified to find out about his death at the age of 45 in 1991. Despite his early death, his great contribution to music hasn't been forgotten.
